If you are already familiar with ADB or already set it up to install Google Play or whatever, this is super easy. Hopefully it will help someone else too with this super annoying issue.
Summarized the solution (for me) was to disable the user account that the stock fire launcher uses by using ADB and running:Īdb shell pm disable-user -user 0 Download Nova Launcher 8.0.2 APK With Branch Search GCAM 8.5.300 v4 From Pixel 7 For All Android Devices APK Download Magisk v25.2 HotFix Update ZIP & APK Download Magisk 26 Next Garena Free Fire 1.92.1 and Free Fire Max 2.92.1 APK Download Nothing OS 1.1. I spent several days researching and trying to fix this issue, was about to attempt rooting my fire or trying the amazon fire toolbox above, when I came across this: Later, I switch over to Nova launcher, and the exact same thing happens. I set the wallpaper in the menus or themes, but it doesn't work. But, when I go and switch over to Apex Launcher, there is a black wallpaper. The Nova app says it's not set as default. I was wondering if setting Nova as the default launcher would help. Now it does go to Nova when I press home, but for a split second it first shows the original kindle homescreen. Hi! Sorry for resurrecting the dead (post), but I wanted to post in case someone else gets here trying to solve this issue and wants a different solution to the ones above (and/or the non-existent ones elsewhere), I was having this same issue on my Amazon Fire 7, same setup/issue (Nova Launcher / pressing the home button goes to the stock fire interface then takes 5ish seconds to flip back to Nova Launcher / none of the solutions I found online helped). I've rooted my Kindle Fire 2nd Generation, installed a boot animation, a custom font, and made everything the way i want it. Setting Nova as default launcher I installed Nova and turned on 'to detect home button press'.
